Tomorrow's Rutgers Football game is at Maryland, yet all of the lights were on at Rutgers stadium. Seems like a good use of money ;) -

Great game today - the new QB just might be the real deal. The upcoming weeks will be the true test.

I really hope the Scarlet Knights rock this year at Football. Last year was a real disappointment.

One of the oldest public universities in the country (246 years and counting), Rutgers educates 50,000 students annually and is home to a dazzling array of academic programs and research institutes. With more than 4,000 courses, undergraduates can major in virtually any academic area imaginable. The school also offer students the opportunity earn certificates in more than 100 areas, and to choose specializations within their majors. Student majors are divided into nine categories, including Nursing, Pharmacy, Engineering, Performing Arts and Journalism. RU also offers strong pre-professional programs (pre-med, pre-law, pre-vet) and additionally gives students the option of “fast-tracking” their studies and earning both undergraduate and professional degrees in law, medicine, and business, public administration, and public policy. 18 departments are nationally ranked, and in 2006, the university overhauled its undergraduate program to combine the four undergraduate colleges and improve student contact with professors. The majority of students naturally come from New Jersey, but Rutgers’ national reputation draws students from across the country and the world.Ratings

"Lots of housing options"

Rutgers provides a variety of housing options for its students. The undergraduate program is divided into five campuses: Busch, College Ave., Cook, Douglas, and Livingston. Until several years ago, Douglass ranked as the only all-female public colleges in the country, but it is now more integrated with the larger university albeit with a strong female bent. Each campus has its own dining service, organizations, athletic facilities, and academic departments: the Cook campus, for example, hosts the School of Agriculture and Biological Sciences, while the Livingston campus hosts the Livingston Theatre Company, which performs musical theater in community elementary schools. It also hosts the Asian-American cultural center. Students tend to choose campuses based on their proximity to the location of most of their classes. Douglass is home to the Mason Gross School of the Arts. For underclassmen, the College Ave. campus is highly recommended because of their proximity to shops, parks, and the train (New Jersey transit to New York and Philly).Ratings

"In Jersey but close to everything"

Despite being located in the middle of New Jersey, Rutgers has a lot to offer – some of it expected, some unexpected. The strongest programs have traditionally included the hard sciences and Math, but over the past several decades, the university’s Philosophy program has also emerged as one of the top three in the country, on par with Princeton and Harvard. Performing Arts programs at the Mason Gross School of the Arts are also top-notch, if extremely competitive. One of the major advantages of the school’s New Brunswick location for science majors, however, is that a large portion of the pharmaceutical industry is based in New Jersey – opportunities for internships and independent research abound. Despite its suburban location, Rutgers is located in close proximity to several major cities: New York City is only an-hour-and-a-half away, and Philadelphia is close as well.Ratings

When I went to Rutgers, it was with the intention of getting a Computer Science degree. I changed my mind, and ended up getting a BA, dual major in History & Philosophy. I am really glad I did! The professors and programs for those subjects are amazing, Rutgers is one of the best (top 5, for sure) Philosophy departments *in the world* and it shows. The campus is pretty, nice proximity to Philiadelphia and New York City. New Brunswick truly is the "Hub City", even though NB itself is pretty dumpy. The dorms are small and bland, the on-campus food is atrocious, but the night life is quite good and NB has a ton of great restaurants if you have money!Ratings
