John Carroll University - University Heights, Ohio

Many of the teachers are not very good. Very blue-collar. The school is very liberal. When it comes to social life, it just plain sucks. I was priviledged last semester by going to a state school. Academics are lacking. I feel like I'm in high school all over again.

Quinn's is a bar here that SERVES at 18. Cabbie D will drive you there, $5 round trip.BUT-- quinns is a piece of shit. floors are dirty, bathroom is the shittiest ive seen in my life.

City and East is a hookah bar right above Malloys and is a pretty chill place but guys gotta be 18 only let in fridays where most of the hookahs are reserved plus a $5 cover.

Typical weekend at JCU:

Friday: Really not much partying other than Quinn's(sometimes it gets busted)-- there is 50cent mug night here. Soccer party is decent when in season, track/cross country party is alright, football party is ok.

Saturday: Hit up the Euclid Tavern for some techno-hip clubbing (if you come there before the bounce like 11ish you might get served there) Tonight is the Double Team; 2 DJ's, usually a good amount of good looking girls albeit mostly hipsters.

Weekdays:

WEDNESDAY:
Quinn's night for freshman/some sophomores few upperclassmen. 50cent mug night, usually packed but during winter less people come.

Thursday:
Usually a DJ at quinn's. $2 mixed drinks (eg vodka redbull)
If youre into ghetto clubbing head to Club Earth in the flats--half hour from school, best if you have a ride, cabs are expensive. Malloy's (on coventry) is big tonight. it's OK can be fun but usually crowded. Girls can get in at 18, guys, get a fake, it's worth it for Malloy's.

People at John Carroll are relatively nice some are stuck up bitches/pricks/douchebags but other than that most are friendly and will befriend you. Some good looking girls; class of 2011 is a quite attractive crop of young ladies. if youre a girl, i heard that there is not a lack of good looking guys here.

John Carroll partying is not the greatest; parties here are quite lame and many are $5 to get in. Throughout the winter, don't be surprised if there are no parties AT ALL on one night in the weekend; JCU goes pretty dry during winter. Usually in the winter it's private house parties or frat/sorority STUPID parties(trust me theyre pretty lame). Most partying happens in the dorms, Murphy especially, but some in Sutowski. RA's in Murphy are dicks, Sutowski's are for the most part laid back. Oh, and Greek life SUCKS. Frats are all trashy except Beta, you cant even drink (well sometimes kinda) and sororities are stupid but Kappa Alpha Theta is quite hott and Gamma is good looking for the most part as well

John Carroll academically has a good business and education school for undergrads, it's ranked pretty well and is recognized for these two areas.
