positives: very diverse university. academics are underrated: really great business and marine science programs. great location- 10 mins from beach. growing very fast. great sense of community. good weather. nice college town.
negatives: can't keep up with rapid student body/ area development growth. male population= NJ/NY guido tools. incompetent staff in bursar and financial aid offices. greek life sucks. most students lack school spirit and don't attend sporting events. lacks in culture: few unique boutiques, virtually no music scene. parking on campus is impossible.
things people should know: the school changed presidents in 2007/2008 school year. the new president decenzo has made alot of changes, some good some bad. i stated before that no one goes to the sporting events/has school spirit, reason being is that decenzo has put many restrictions on those events. the teams (other than male soccer and baseball) aren't very good anyway, so the whole reason for going was too have fun/socialize, and they're not fun anymore. also, he got rid of the public bus that ran from campus to the popular area for clubs, bars, restaurants, and shopping (the drunk bus).
social scene: its at the beach so broadway at the beach is almost always packed with students and tourists alike. most places have their "college nights" on thursday, such as "jackass saloon" or "nzone"- the 2 closest sports bars. almost everywhere in the area has a discount for ccu students/alumni/faculty, but you may have to ask for it.Ratings
