This school is the worst possible choice. The teachers are extremly unhelpful as well as unpleasant. The school is very very disorganized and the rules change day by day. Students are forced to clean the bathrooms (toilets included) and all around the school. We were even told to go clean up garbage and cigarette butts in the parking lot. Students have also had to salt the sidewalks. You should not be paying that much money to be cleaning. The school always smells disgusting because the plumbing is messed up, and the toilets are ALWAYS clogged. If you miss a saturday you are charged $100 which you are not told of at the time of registration, and if you show up a few minutes late you get charged $25. The trip to L.A. is false, nobody has ever gone. Half the time there is no shampoo or proper products to use as well. When working on clients, the teachers are very unhelpful and hard to find when you have questions you NEED answered. There is no time to make up hours, which basically forces students to go over contract. Definitely research other schools...this one is NOT a good choice at all and every student there is unhappy daily, even crying. AND if you look up the cosmetology and spa institute on the Better Business Bureau website, they are rated an F with a number of complaints filed against them. Do your research!

I am one of the many students that SAA kicked to the curb. Let me tell you a little bit about this "art" college. First of all, the owner, who is not a graphic designer by any definition, is only concerned with money. The only time you see him is when he is parading around with potentially new students, trying to pretend like his school is one big happy family with tons of opportunities.... its a lie. Then there is the President of the school. The ex Bengals cheerleader. Nice as can be... doesn't know anything about graphic design... oh but she's the owners little pet. When I first started, I knew absolutely nothing about Adobe programs. I was lead to believe this was... an ART college. However, I took to graphic design. I enjoy it. Even though, I had to teach myself how to use every single program given. Not every student took Adobe classes in high school and apparently that's what they expected because there was no leniency or instruction. Have I mentioned the grading system? I don't know about any other schools except the ones that I've attended but generally 100-90 is an A, 89-80 is a B, 79-70 is a C, so on and so forth. SAA however, if your grade is less than a 77% ... you fail. The last project that my class was assigned was a restaurant rebranding. That means that we were required to create a new logo, slogan, menu, website(3 pages), 6 branding items (napkins, t-shirts, etc), and 2 marketing items with web attachments. Now, the time span for this project was 10 days.... 10 DAYS!!! We also were required to print out 2 booklets with all of our designs in them.. on average they were about 30-40 pages each. We were then made to present this project to 2 teachers. Long story short, I spent $130 on printing these booklets and another $50 on materials to mock up the menu and I failed because my booklet was out of order on my flash drive. I was 1 of 6 to be kicked out just that quarter. They claim to have a great job placement rate but what they don't tell you is that they get rid of a lot of students for BS reasons. Not to mention the favoritism. Most of these "teachers" grade your work on their opinion and some of them base it on whether or not you kiss their ass enough. Its a lose lose. However, there are a few good things. I've met some of my very best friends at SAA. There are also 3 teachers that are actually worthwhile to talk to. Not naming names but one is mexican, one is black and one is a kick ass blonde who will tell you like it is. They are the only good things about this place. Friends don't let friends waste money at SAA.

Hilbert College is a fine institution that is on the upswing. The campus is growing as each year passes. The Business Administration Bachelor's Degree program at Hilbert College is rigorous and worthwhile. The Hilbert College SIFE team has had great success due to the hard work by both Professor Roland and the students which make up the team. In 2009, Hilbert College SIFE placed in the top thirty in the nation at the National SIFE competition in Philadelphia, PA. I strongly suggest taking a look at Hilbert College to see what it has to offer. Hilbert College has taught me to make the most out of a situation. It is what you put into a school that makes it a great place. Hilbert has many different majors and is most well known for its Criminal Justice program. The Political Science program that is offered at Hilbert College is outstanding as well. I have liked Hilbert so much that I have chosen to pursue two bachelor's degrees at the college. In closing, if you are unsure as to where you want to make your next move in terms of a college education I suggest Hilbert College!
